You can even force people to create a free read(view)-only account, and then select which accounts have access.

I can set passwords for access, or just use hidden galleries (won't show in the browser but accessible using a direct link). It's customisable (very customisable, even, if you buy more than the basic subscription). All these storage sites I'm sure there is some fine print that google, apple, ms somehow can analyze or own your data. It isn't that great for large files like a movie as it will want to download it and unable to do its antiviral scan. You can add a description to the file and flip side to side viewing or in pick from a gallery like view where you see thumbnails of the files. As things got pretty casual with odd jobs I just send family, friends and the odd client a google drives link which you can either leave open to anyone who can click it or restrict it. I think they've been sold off a few times. I had smugmug years ago which looks nice. It looks a lot nicer than the general file shares but still cumbersome. My part time job likes flickr but there is a limit to how much it can hold now. I don't need anything more than that (although a slideshow feature that lets the users control the display rate would be nice). So I'm looking for a free or inexpensive alternative that contains the features I've noted above. OneDrive has more or less worked for me, but it's buggy and sometimes works less than more, and Microsoft provides no support for it. I can e-mail a link to the people I want to share the photos with, so only they can view them, and they don't have to create an account on the site and sign in that makes sharing easy. It's free, allows me to display them in full resolution, and I can add captions to the photos. For a couple of years, I've been sharing photos with friends and family by uploading them to Microsoft OneDrive.
